Thank you for your interest in Rocky Mountain District’s Loewen Scholarship. This scholarship is for Rocky Mountain District Nazarene students attending a Nazarene college or university.
All applications are to be submitted electronically no later than March 1, 2020 for the following academic year.
The Scholarship Committee will review all scholarship applications, and those receiving scholarships will be announced at REJOICE. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the selection process by March 31 .
Academic achievement and financial need are the primary considerations for this scholarship. See criteria below.
The scholarship amount and number of scholarships awarded will vary depending on the amount of earnings available in the Scholarship Fund each year and the number of qualified applicants. Qualified applicants may receive this scholarship for a maximum of four years. The scholarship will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualifying individuals.

Scholarship Criteria
Applicant must be one of the following:
- Either a senior high school student who will be an incoming college freshman student who ranks in the upper 25% of his/her graduating class, OR have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the numerical point (where 4.0 is an A), OR a minimum score of ACT 22 / SAT 950;
- College student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university who has maintained a GPA of 2.5 during his/her college career and now plans to attend a Nazarene College or University.
- Be a graduate of a high school in Montana or Wyoming.
- Be a member of and in regular attendance at a Church of the Nazarene on the Rocky
Mountain District. - Attend a Nazarene college or university.
- Maintain a college GPA of 2.5 in order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Be committed to making reasonable progress toward the degree they are seeking.
- Be a student in good standing, carrying at least 12 credit hours per semester.
- While the student is attending a Nazarene College or University and in receipt of
scholarship funds or applying for scholarship funds, they are expected to attend a Church of the Nazarene.
